Critics Consensus

Flower proves Zoey Deutch can bring even the most preposterously written characters vividly to life -- and that she isn't quite enough to carry a fundamentally flawed film.

Deutch burns up the screen in ways that are so passionately multifaceted I was dumbstruck by all of the emotional nuances she was able to mine with such aggressively calming ease.

Everyone here is simply a mismanaged thing to be moved around an isn't-that-shocking storyboard as needed. It's a shame, as Deutch shows real commitment to a role that demands the exact opposite ...

What I immediately loved about Flower is that Winkler does not shy away from letting the audience know where he is taking his film from the opening moments.

This is the most uniquely bizarre movie I’ve see. I loved every moment of this disturbingly amazing masterpiece.

Zoey has a ridiculous role to play - a teenager that's sexually disturbed but is tossed redeeming qualities here and there. It's a try hard movie.

Emotionally unstable and off track film that has no coherent guiding theme. The acting is actually very good, amazingly, since the dialogue is extremely scattershot and unconvincing. The premise and story and almost all occurrences depicted are totally disconnected from anything resembling real life. So many flaws, and so many problems with this movie it would take a while to list them all. I made it through, and I consider that an accomplishment somehow, but it was really just a waste of time.
