Eric H @Littlericky10 5 days ago I absolutely loved this movie. Everything about it. The story, the acting, the casting, the time and place, the friction with Russian sympathizers, the compassion fatigue, etc., etc. Kudos to the producer(s), director and writer(s). See more Zachary S @Zach154 Oct 6, 2026 How to Divorce During the War follows Marija, who decides to divorce her husband, Vytas, in Vilnius in 2022, just as Russia invades Ukraine. As their already crumbling relationship collides with the uncertainty and devastation of war, the film examines the difficult process of separation against an increasingly unstable world. Astounding performances, insightful writing, and remarkably restrained direction create a compelling and intimate marital drama, allowing the personal turmoil of its characters to reflect the larger anxieties surrounding them. While Blaževičius’s restrained approach occasionally results in emotionally distant scenes that leave you yearning for a stronger connection, and the child’s perspective could have been explored more deeply, the film remains a thoughtful and affecting exploration of love, separation, and the ways war can reshape even the most personal aspects of life. I found it really relatable and emotionally impactful, especially as someone in a long-term relationship. See more Bill H @RT59114294 Sep 3, 2026 An intriguing premise, strong lead performances, and some subtly brilliant camera work ensure that this doesn't devolve into either tone deaf farce or soap opera melodrama.
