Mr Hollywood Jan 25, 2026 Gritty looking. Was entertaining. It doesn’t shy away from violence. If you don’t mind that in movies then you’ll enjoy it See more Robert W Jan 24, 2026 One of the worst movies I’ve seen in awhile. See more Peter W @RT12077588 4 days ago In Cold Light is a passable thriller that stumbles out of the gate with a clunky, somewhat vague opening. While the second act introduces genuinely engaging stakes, it ultimately builds to a weak, unfulfilling finale. The story itself isn’t particularly fresh, feeling serviceable at best, and in the end, it’s largely forgettable and lacking real impact. As always, Maika Monroe delivers a compelling and grounded performance, though her character never feels as interesting or layered as it could have been. Visually, the film is a highlight, with its largely nighttime setting creating a strong, moody atmosphere and cinematography that captures that darkness quite well. The premise of this movie was pretty straightforward and the young lady who betrayed the main character in this film done a real good job. Lots of action lots of killing lots of twists and turns for this poor young lady. This is not a movie for the squeamish and if you don't like and blood and guts and this is probably not a movie for you but I genuinely like this movie but it's definitely worth the watch to me See more Anna H @Anna-halbert Jul 24, 2026 What a crap movie. So boring. See more Thomas L @PoodleBoy Jul 19, 2026 I have not seen Maika Monroe since the excellent 'It Follows'. And what follows? A dry depressing movie of a woman NOT trying to go straight, after serving time in prison, pushing her way back into the drug business, with all of her old partners, including her twin brother, discouraging her from rejoining and a family reputation of being a trouble maker. Why her brother would then encourage her to go to a meet and greet makes no sense. And then the tedium/violence really sets in. Maika Monroe does a capable job, but the story is not new, the redemption is bare bones, the flashbacks and backgrounds stories are more of a distraction from the main story and too many of the bad guys are not well cast. Kudos to Helen Hunt and Troy Kotsur for adding some gravitas to the heavy tone. See more Read all reviews
