Buddy W @BuddyW 3d Once you realize this is a dark comedy, you'll start to catch that it's a parody/homage to the shot-on-camcorder micro-budget movies of the 1980s and 90s. The previous installment, Mark of the Devil 666, came out in 1995 and was no joke. Not a good movie in any way. 777, however, takes on that fact and owns it. Has far too many serious moments, but once it gets going - and heads into a bonkers finale - it becomes a fun watch. Super low-budget, but with surprisingly decent gore FX, okay acting, and even a few jump scares thrown in for fun. It does, BTW, honor the original 1970 film in its storyline.
