Two kids want to start a heavy metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about heavy metal. Hunter (Adrian Greensmith) is a diehard metal fan who knows his history and shreds. His dream is to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands. He enlists his best friend Kevin (Jaeden Martell) to man the drums. But with schoolmates more interested in Bieber than Black Sabbath, finding a bassist is a struggle. Until Kevin overhears Emily (Isis Hainsworth) playing her cello. The motley crew must contend with school, parents, hormones and teen angst while trying to get along long enough for Skullf*cker to win the Battle of the Bands.

What the story lacks in plot, it is carried by feel-good messages. The ending of [Metal Lords] makes me give out the biggest toothy grin. Weird kids exist and that’s okay.

Only watch this movie if you're a metalhead. Since I am, I loved it. The reason I liked it is because how upfront it was with referencing other bands, which they did a lot. That was awesome. Also the Challenger addition was great cuz that's my favorite car. It was really explicit in terms of profanity which I wasn't expecting. It gave off Deathgasm vibes in terms of humor. It is true though, the characters are pretty unlikable. But it's worth checking out if you're into the genre.

Regardless of the negative remarks, the focus is about music features such as long to slow tempos and dramatic crescendos. The kids drama and behavior is a bonus.
