Valerii, the director, has turned the film from a Western story of comic-strip bravery into one about skepticism, the pull of stardom, and a reluctant alliance between dubious, again sharpshooter and a young man... Go to Full Review

While it all feels like a step down from the grandeur of Leone's spaghetti Westerns, that's part of the point, and part of the charm. Go to Full Review

Overall, “Nobody” fits neatly into the spaghetti Western tradition, featuring grit, grime, quick zooms and quicker guns. ... In the process, it becomes an intriguingly meta analysis not just of the old West but of cinema’s Western tradition. Go to Full Review

j F @LiberteBurrows 3d Little too much gravy for me See more Nick F @RT48882955 Mar 29 My Name Is Nobody is an unusual Western, made in 1973 and starring the then 68-year-old Henry Fonda as Beauregard, a legendary gunman heading for retirement. But when challenged by a young admirer to secure his place in Wild West history by taking on a gang of 150 gunmen, he rather bizarrely accepts the challenge. What follows is a an often unintentionally comedic film directed by Tonino Valerii and co-starring Italian actor Terence Hill. Fonda is compelling as the laid-back gunman, while Hill seems intent of making his name as a comedian, which often undermines the drama and tension. Even so, this movie represents the West in the dirty, dusty and largely lawless way it probably was, so there is a gritty realism threaded though the storyline and the gunfights are especially well depicted. If you don’t try to follow the twisty plot but just enjoy the gunplay, the dramatic scenery and the classy, effortless performance by Henry Fonda, you’ll have a good time.
