Josh Sep 26, 2026 Watching it now, it feels more like a dark comedy. Audience were laughing in for probably 40% of the movie See more Alex B @AlexBioni 21 hrs ago The Original Zombie Nightmare This is a masterpiece. The story was groundbreaking for its time. Today, it might feel like an episode of The Walking Dead, but back then it was revolutionary. A group of survivors barricade themselves in a vacant house during a zombie outbreak. I like the news perspectives, too. The ending is chilling. The blood and practical effects deliver, from the decaying body to a zombie getting hit with a fire poker. The makeup looks great. The black and white cinematography makes the zombies scarier, and the firelight looks real. I'm glad they went with black and white. The acting is great, especially Duane Jones, our Rick Grimes trying to keep everyone alive. Karl Hardman plays the guy you love to hate. The middle's pacing could be better, but after everything in the first act, it's important to take a breath before things go full blown again in the third. As someone from Pittsburgh, I'm proud this timeless horror classic is part of my city's history. See more Johnny D @poppin_fresh 4 days ago Classic - must watch for anyone interested in the genre. The terror is real, reactions are realistic, and the struggles force you to share the risks, every time. If you like scary movies, this is a must watch. Not only was this the first time we saw people eating each other, (zombies!), but the casting of the late great Duane Jones was monumentally historical, especially during the Civil Rights Movement, and I’ve always held so much respect for Romero because of this choice. “He was the best actor for the role, that’s why I casted him.” 💜 10/10 See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 10, 2026 Night of the Living Dead = a 4.5 Star movie...
