Tamara D @Tamara06870 Oct 6, 2026 I came across the film after a family member in Northern CT sent me a screenshot of it being promoted online as being ‘#1’ on Rotten Tomatoes. After looking closely, the screenshot appeared to be from a page sorted by ‘Newest,’ rather than popularity or ranking. That marketing made me curious enough to watch the film, but unfortunately the movie itself did not live up to the impression the promotion created. The film has a sweet message and a few funny moments. I wanted to like it but overall it felt underdeveloped. Some of the dialogue sounded unnatural and many times the performances felt forced or theatrical rather than conversational. There were also a few camera and editing choices that were distracting enough to pull me out of the story. I appreciated the heart behind it, I loved Nudge, but the movie could have benefited from more refinement in the writing, pacing, and direction. They had so much fun recognizing local spots, which was so cool to watch, and they couldn’t wait to find out whose dog it was! Such a sweet, feel-good film that the whole family enjoyed. In this day and age, we need more of this message for the young people, and this film gives them an idea that things can be different and maybe ought to be. Well written and directed, I think this is a must-watch, go-to option for wholesome family entertainment. Highly recommended!!!
