I loved learning about historical figures lesser known in the western world with a Gladiator-esque story line and the stunts and production design to match. The acting was great and I appreciated the way complicated characters and context was introduced. The horses and battle scenes were epic and the film made me want to learn more about Timur and his legacy. It was incredible to watch the character develop throughout the movie. giving up his will to fight to getting back to his old self and fighting for not just his future but for those around him. Also the setting, utterly beautiful, they filmed it in real small villages, not another set! It made the movie feel more realistic, the chess pieces, the details in the doors, and especially the costumes! And I love how everything really tied in, the lighting paired so well with the sound tracks and the filming! Anyway, please watch this movie, it was sooooo good!!
