Questioning the moral fortitude of these comedies used to be something only critics did [...] Now 'Roommates' is getting in on the act and I respect the film’s sense of introspection. I just wish it had funnier jokes. Go to Full Review

[While the] framing device is purposefully heighted, Sandler and East are fantastic at bringing a level of emotional realism to Devon and Celeste’s complicated bond, which is two parts Girls, one part Single White Female. Go to Full Review

Roommates might not rival the fizzy, formative teen films it both references (Clueless) and often directly cribs from (Mean Girls) but it still belongs in a different league to what we’re mostly served right now. Go to Full Review

Roommates is a charming, if imperfect, college comedy. The absurd nature of the final act really helps sell the overall experience, but clocking in at an hour and forty-five minutes does test the audience. Go to Full Review

There’s a lot of rich kid stuff in this movie, which I also found hard to relate to, although I do think clashing with your college roommate is a pretty universal experience (if you didn’t good for you!!) Go to Full Review

Like her sister Sunny did in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, [Sadie Sandler] leads Roommates with enough genuine charm and likeability to overcome some shaggy storytelling by screenwriters Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara O’Sullivan. Go to Full Review

Ted M. @TeddysToms 6h In a genre crowded with disposable comedies that chase jokes and forget substance, this film does both. See more prawnda S @RT72497680 7h maybe let talented, hardworking people have a chance instead of your dad buying you roles? See more Tucker B @isurgunpink 7h I truly enjoyed the movie. It felt accurate to my experience, or basically how I felt. I enjoyed the deliveries by both actors, however I will say you could definitely tell that they were acting. I did watch this movie while high, and I am writing this the same way. What really sparked me was the ending, it felt real, vivid, and sturdy. All characters got what was coming, karma, and real. I did feel as though it was rushed, but still amazing. During the movie at 58:03 (no spoilers), it spoke to me. However same opinion. In the end, I felt positive after the movie, not negative. While sleeping for 12 hours that night! See more Kyle H @RT32515938 10h Genuinely a terrible movie with awful acting/no actual plot. See more Bob H. @TheDukeCC 16h Fine. Some funny stuff, some really cheesy stuff. See more Vee V @RT89388028 20h I loved it! A modern twist on the classic coming of age teen movie with some great throwbacks. A brilliant Saturday afternoon movie with a great cast and some hilarious one liners. Enjoy! See more Read all reviews
