This was my very first viewing of Silent Scream, thanks to Kino Lorber’s 4K release, and it’s a fairly dull sit until the denouement, with very few scares and head scratching scenes that lead nowhere. Go to Full Review

Although impressive from a perspective of technical acuity, the indifferent impression left by 1979's "Silent Scream" reminds you that slasher-movie serendipity is often in short supply. Go to Full Review

An interesting assortment of aging has-beens merges with a dull collection of young never-weres to produce an increasingly dopey chiller. Go to Full Review

It's all very boring and I actually found the token sub-plots more interesting... other questions of equal importance are never resolved but simply disappear amid all the violence and sudden deaths. Go to Full Review

The Silent Scream is something less than a classic of its genre, but still manages to be worth a look for aficionados of the era's horror films. Go to Full Review

Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life 3 days ago Well it's not Psycho or Halloween but it sure is a very interesting story and was better than I expected. The music was good especially the saxophone playing during intimate scenes between Scotty and Jack. The ending was great but I wanted a higher body count. Still it is a good slasher movie. Timothy Treakle See more nick s @Nick_S Feb 12, 2026 The movie had good production value, with nice camera work, fairly good soundtrack and competent acting. Rebecca Balding was great. Unfortunately it was let down by poor storytelling. For a horror there wasn't enough tension or intrigue. See more Ian S @RT48225084 Nov 30, 2025 Well filmed, but pretty obvious and run of the mill. Some good veteran actors wasted. Nothing very interesting or surprising just a very average genre film that cherry picked better movies of it's type. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Sep 24, 2025 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas de terror são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Steve D @RT35616104 Mar 13, 2023 It is too slow and unscary to work. See more Jan 9, 2014 The crumbling seaside board house makes for a creepy setting to begin with, and this slasher ramps things up nicely in the latter half, building to a cat and mouse of a climax that actually left me a little nervy, as it's shot in a fairly unique and quiet manner that you don't find in a lot of horror films. Well worth a rental. See more Read all reviews
