The movie is more watchable than you might expect, and the cast is appealing. But one of its issues is the amount of plot overlap with last year’s Companion, a sharper satirical jab at toxic relationships and technophobia. Go to Full Review

Soulm8te is the dumbest movie of the year to brush against the idea of the havoc men wreak when they attempt to create the perfect subservient woman. Go to Full Review

Here’s a movie that recognizes the hollowness and potential danger of living your life through artificial relationships. That it’s packaged in an entertaining B-movie that makes for a fun late-night watch is even better. Go to Full Review

Not an easy position to root for the robot in today’s age, but it is easy when our protagonist is such a crippling bore and also when films like Companion and Obsession tackled these ideas with more gusto. Go to Full Review

Time might be kind to 'Soulm8te,' especially as much of modern entertainment continues to circle the drain of puritanism. Go to Full Review

Jeremiah C @RT78612892 5h great movie!! its better than you would expect. its megan + obsession into one! this movie came out before obsession though. i hope theres a sequel as the ending kinda leaves us a cliffhanger!! sara was a badass and the end credits song is also nice and fits well with this movie! its more of a sci fi thriller than a horror tbh. if you like thrillers and drama with a little bit of sci fi this is for you! See more Laura R @lrangel80 8h Another tired, predictable "killer robot goes yandere" trope. 🙄 As soon as the safety protocols come off, it just fumbles into a generic slasher. If you actually want a smart, clever sci-fi thriller that turns the subservient android premise on its head, watch Companion (2025) instead. Or if you want a beautiful cyberpunk romance that explores true humanism and emotional connection without the cheap bloodbath, go read Greg Dragon's novel Re-Wired. It's also available on Audible. Pass on this. See more nilufer E @Nilicim 15h It really never gets old. It reminded me a lot of Companion, but honestly, this kind of thing feels increasingly plausible these days. Maybe that's what made it work so well for me. Nothing groundbreaking, but still a very entertaining watch. See more Farah R @Farah 1d I wish this movie got the marketing of M3GAN 2.0 because it’s way more deserving of a theatrical release. The story is actually interesting and the characters are emotionally resonating with themes of personal grief. Sure, some aspects are predictable, but not enough to through you off. Soulm8te handles the robot girlfriend gone rogue premise better than Companion. I also found the score and cinematography striking, as the noir atmosphere builds a tense and seductive mood. Definitely worth watching. See more Malik D. @Princevon 1d Surprisingly........ shockingly. Not that bad. The kills are pretty good. The story isn't anything new but I did honestly enjoy this movie. See more Ken K @RT25234314 2d Not too bad, I was pleasantly surprised. Having said that, it's the usual predictable lifelike-robot--takes-a-wrong-turn sci-fi flick with some sex and violence, corporate malfeasance and romance thrown in. I've seen a lot worse, at least the soundtrack is real music and not some cheap synth crap. See more Read all reviews
