After leaving their prom early, innocent Jenny (Renée Zellweger) and three other teenagers crash their car in the backwoods of Texas. In their search for help, they run into Vilmer Slaughter (Matthew McConaughey), a vicious psychopath with a mechanical leg, and his twisted family, including the serial killer Leatherface. As the group of friends struggle to survive the maniacal methods of torture, Jenny discovers the secret origins behind the family's lust for blood.

The Next Generation has the fortune of starring early-career Matthew McConaughey and Renée Zellweger, but it services neither headliner well in a convoluted and cheap-looking slasher that doesn't live up to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre legacy.

A brilliant comedy with many laughs. Renee and Mathew steal the screen for most of the movie and it's good enough to keep watching. The "Heather" character is so dumb she's downright hilarious. No kidding. I couldn't help but laugh the entire time. Tony Perenski is off the charts funny in this film. She should've won best supporting actress! It's not scary at all, but it makes up for it in comedy. The acting is great. I loved it.

I cannot express my hatred for this movie. Do not waste your time or your money. This movie is terrible, a total s word show. Much as number 3 it has no story line, the characters are so annoying even leather face he just screams like a baby the whole time. Like why have they turned the whole concept into a social experiment in the movie with that stupid black coat guy?

The worst film of the franchise. The characters are dumb. The acting is horrible. The plot is ridiculous. The films of this franchise just get worse with each installment. Matthew McConaughey will bring some of this style of acting back in Killer Joe.

This was one of the WORST horror movies I've ever watched! I cannot believe this got made and had well-established stars in it. Although, since it was made in 1994, I'm not sure just how "well-established they were. Anyway, you've been warned!
