See more Aug 7, 2013 In light of the tendancy for society to overlook male dominance, psychological abuse & coercion to take advantage of women, this tale of abuse from 1941 is a subtle reminder for today's audience that we aught to be vigilant about abuse. - The title "The Mad Doctor" is not about a creepy chemist conjuring up toxic concoctions in a smoky lab. - It's about a sneaky serial opportunist/murderer. - The only weak point in it is that the Girl had to be rescued by the Hero, but then, it was made in 1941. - It was a product of its time. - But the full picture is all there.
