The Curse of Wolf Mountain felt like an oversaturated slasher, which wanted to throw in all of the tropes instead of picking and choosing specific aspects and moulding them into this film.

Ultimately, the film is a seriously flawed thriller. The editing is choppy and things go on for longer than needed. The Curse of Wolf Mountain is fine background filler, but never quite connects.

This movie is a really fresh take on the slasher/horror genera. I enjoyed it a lot. The acting is solid from every cast member. The main character AJ (Price) brings a believable sense of intensity and emotional gravitas to the role. The story has good pacing, and the various plot turns make the Curse worth a second viewing. Though the story wraps up neatly in the finale, I could see them building upon the themes presented here in a sequel. It reminded me a bit of the first Friday the 13th or Scream, in that it's a fantastic stand-alone story, but could certainly set up a franchise. Would recommend to any slasher fan looking for something new.
