For decades Gus Lobel has been one of baseball's best scouts -- but now his age is catching up with him. Still, he refuses to be benched even though his bosses are questioning his judgment. The good news is that Eastwood does his thing to perfection, Adams provides the spunky cuteness, and Timberlake couldn't scrub his eager charm off with a Brillo pad if he tried.

It's pretty desperate. It wants to be a Hallmark movie disguised as an underdog story a la Rudy, but the writers never watched a baseball game. If they had, they'd know how players swing a baseball bat.

Come along for the ride through the bus leagues and high school ball watching life of a MLB scout. And get to watch the real equation of how and why dads and daughters can go so wrong. I very well done film with deep performances by Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams, and a disturbingly well done job by Mathew Lillard as the charming yet conniving "other guy".

I like Amy Adam's and Clint Eastwood, but this was poorly directed and produced. Easy to read and predictable plot. Seemed to be outdated and more worthy of a 70's movie
