Aaron Eckhart, Tommy Lee Jones and Heather Graham star in the edge-of-your-seat thriller following Arthur Bretnik, a paranoid private investigator with a troubled past. After Bretnik (Eckhart) is hired to investigate a suspicious death in the town of Wander, he becomes convinced the case is linked to the same ‘conspiracy cover up’ that caused the death of his daughter.

Critics Consensus

Wander benefits from Aaron Eckhart's strong leading performance, but his efforts aren't enough to support the story's increasingly cuckoo twists and turns.

[Wander] is kind of a drag at times, despite the energy director Mullen puts into the scenario's depiction.

Admirably ambitious albeit ultimately bonkers...

Perhaps the biggest problem with Wander is that, as much as it tools with the viewer until the very last shot, tossing out tons of red herrings and false leads, it never really trusts in the viewer's intelligence.

With no emotional stakes and a confusing central conspiracy, Wander is a thriller without thrills and a political statement that doesn’t know what it wants to say.

One of the lamest episodes of The X-Files never made, Wander actually brings to mind the name of Mad magazine's spoof of the cult series. Just call this The Ecch-Files.

Wander tries to be a taut thriller, but after a while, it just wears you down.

Very good cast wasted. Director gets an A for effort but movie never gets there. Heather always crazy good.

a wasted opportunity. Aaron eckart gives a strong acting (more than other times) for a weak and messed up story. From the moment the character declares jimmy's death, the director turns on himself to create a game of rebounds and surprises that fails. Instead of confusing the viewer to show him a reality different from what was expected, he confuses everything resulting not very believable and the plot twist is worse than the confusion. The ending with the pressing soundtrack irritates even more. But anyway Aaron Eckart and TL Jones playing together are better than noting
