Completely unbelievable storyline. See more Pretty P @RT61592973 08/28/2024 This movie was not easy to watch but I pushed through it determined to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion to a rather rambling beginning. Rupert Graves stole the film, in my opinion, as the somewhat stifled young English lawyer who tries to embrace the ‘Dolce Vita’ of the Tuscan way of way. However, his Victorian stuffiness and subjugated personality continue to hold him back and contribute significantly to the terrible tragedy that befalls his ‘friend’ Gino and his precious baby son. Overall, the film is wanting for more depth and delicacy. See more 04/19/2020 This film was exhausting! I'm glad I didn't read the book. Would've been a waste of time. Terrible storyline...the only thing correct was the way English people were back then. Conceited, selfish, judgemental, opinionated and arrogant. Hated the way they got away with kidnapping and manslaughter. Stupid ending. Don't even bother to watch the start. The half star is for the Italian location. See more 11/02/2019 Horrible story line and mumbling dialog. A baby gets kidnapped and dies in the process, yet nobody is so much as arrested. Instead, they go about their merry way. Great cinematography and production quality; too bad it was wasted on such complete trash. Don't waste your time.
