Well-conceived, Gabriele Fabbro unveils potent performances from Vitale and Mancini in this intriguing, sensual, disturbing thriller. This is his first feature film, but it certainly won’t be his last. Go to Full Review

Who would’ve thought that organ playing could be so sexually intoxicating? Such is the allure of the instrument or, more correctly, the repairing of, that runs through the veins of Gabriele Fabbro‘s debut feature. Go to Full Review

Eric L @Eric_94 Apr 12 An odd film with a dark heart, that is definitely more thriller than sapphic romance. The acting and cinematography are superb, with the slightly claustrophic church interiors given breathing space by the outdoor scenes. SPOILER ALERT.......... BUT, music enthusiasts expecting a life-affirming story about the careful restoration of a pipe organ will be sorely disappointed. The character of Roxanne is a nasty piece of work, seemingly devoid of empathy, who makes life hell for Lucia, her mute young apprentice. After almost daily verbal abuse, Roxanne asphyxiates Lucia's brother when he dares to trespass on "church land". Then there's the bizarre seduction/non-seduction of Lucia by Roxanne, to a "piano roll" mechanical rendition of Ravel's Bolero, and Roxanne's murder at the end. Lovely. Some of the incidental "organ music" sounds like what we in the UK call a cinema organ, not a church organ, so all a bit melodramatic. Not really my cup of tea, unfortunately.
