A pizza delivery driver forced to rob a bank while wearing an explosive vest creates immediate urgency, and director Ruben Fleischer keeps the story moving at a brisk pace. At just over 80 minutes, the film wastes very little time and delivers a steady stream of action and comedy. Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari have excellent chemistry, with Eisenberg's nervous energy playing perfectly against Ansari's sarcastic confidence. Danny McBride and Nick Swardson add plenty of chaotic humor as the bumbling masterminds, while Michael Peña makes the most of his limited screen time. The biggest disappointment is that the screenplay never fully capitalizes on its terrific concept. Instead of finding increasingly clever ways to use the premise, it often falls back on familiar action-comedy tropes and hit-or-miss crude humor. It's entertaining enough, but it never becomes as funny or inventive as its setup promises. Not really a movie deserving of any kind of award but a movie doesn't always need to be deep or profound for it to be good. I thought the cast was good and the lines and jokes hit pretty well.
