Ride or Die follows best friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton who thought they knew everything about each other, except Judith turns out to be an international assassin. When a mysterious figure emerges from Judith’s past and a hit goes horribly wrong, both of their worlds are turned upside down as they’re forced to go on the run together. It’s a race against time and a road trip across Europe, with law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and some very dangerous criminals at their heels.

You haven’t seen someone trying to fight an assassin while being poisoned until you’ve seen Hannah Waddingham do it in the close confines of a luxury train. Go to Full Review

Ride Or Die isn’t quite the action vehicle Waddingham and Spencer deserve, but they both excel regardless, hitting the thrills and comedic beats with formidable and charismatic tenacity. Go to Full Review

Ride or Die is very efficient in terms of its own hit list: bouncy, well-acted and entertaining, the show doesn’t transcend its assorted genres but instead happily plays with them. Go to Full Review

Ride or Die pairs Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer in a fast-paced action-comedy that’s powered by terrific chemistry, sharp humour and entertaining set pieces, even if its familiar story rarely surprises. Go to Full Review

[Ride or Die] is done with such shamelessly garish brio that only the most committed of spoilsports would allow themselves to be distracted by such things as implausibility and ludicrousness. Go to Full Review

Detail-obsessed assassins are a common character trope that shows like Barry and Killing Eve have been playing around with (and undermining) over the past decade. Go to Full Review

Heather Y @hikergirl1 3h Loved it. Looking forward to the next season. See more pan M @Panmel 7h Truly excellent and a really fun packed ride, brilliant ! Love the pace, the chemistry - top notch casting - it's delightfully quirky and the innovative take on the usual spy/assassin thematics is so refreshing. Come on season 2 and so forth please. See more TA S @SUNFROG 7h ★★★★★ *Ride or Die* was an absolute joy. The chemistry between Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham is what makes it work so beautifully. They play off each other with the ease, affection, irritation, and timing of longtime friends. Even better, they had only recently met when the project began and developed a real friendship while making the series. You can feel that connection on screen. Their friendship doesn't feel performed. It feels lived. The acting is terrific. Spencer brings warmth, wit, heart, and effortless comedic timing. Waddingham is equally magnetic, with humor, confidence, heart, and tremendous screen presence. Together, they are hilarious. The story kept me engaged from beginning to end. It is a little predictable, but I was having too much fun to care. There is comedy, drama, clean action, a touch of spice, and some language. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants something fun, funny, engaging, and full of personality. Spencer and Waddingham are the heart of it. See more Lachlan L @RT12038892 1d Ride or Die is an absolute cinema. I need a season 2,3,4, and 5. Minimum. Hannah Waddingham? To die for. Octavia Spencer? To also die for. See more Carma M @RT78202557 1d Aside from a bit of strong language, Ride or Die is a truly wonderful show. The absolute highlight is the dynamic between the leading ladies. They are beautifully written as two sides of the same coin—so incredibly alike in some ways, yet completely different in others. The storyline balances high-energy excitement with realistic, relatable fun. It has a charmingly quirky edge that keeps the energy fresh and consistently leaves you wanting to press "Next Episode." If you are looking for an engaging watch with fantastic character chemistry, this is it! See more Anthony W @meirionwilliams 2d An entertaining take on the “secret identity” genre with Waddingham and Spencer delivering solid performances. The counterpoint is that women of a certain age (or WOACCA) as one character puts it, are just as capable and desirable as they once were. There’s humour throughout though spliced with less light-hearted moments that occasionally needle. The plot devices bind together better as a series than it would a film. Nighy always plays the senior spy character parts well and Calum Lynch is also noteworthy as the callow youth. The ending leaves potential for a second season without promising it and on the whole doesn’t actually need it. A second season script would need to find character complexities that haven’t already been explored which could be a challenge. Definitely worth a watch. See more Read all reviews
