For professional CIA agents, all the spies in this film were very VERY bad at being spies. I kept feeling nuance to so many other movies, like Indiana Jones or Despicable Me. What Worked: Diaz and Jamie Foxx's natural chemistry is easily the biggest highlight. Glenn Close as a gun-toting MI6 sniper grandma adds some awesome veteran gravitas. Through my Methodist faith lens, watching a married couple lean on their bond to fiercely protect their kids hit a solid chord with my values on marriage and family. The Cuts: The sheer amount of location hopping totally threw off the pacing for me; once they hit London, the story just spins its wheels with unnecessary exposition. Keeping it spoiler-free, the main betrayal twist is a super tired trope that makes the stakes completely predictable. Also, the awkward camera angles used to hide Foxx's body doubles during his medical emergency took me right out of the movie. Verdict: A loud spy comedy that wastes a great cast. The humor here is quite weak, there are some action scenes that manage to deliver some entertainment, but the ending is very weak.
