Andy B @AndyB6816 Aug 18 A park ranger has to stay out overnight after she finds a corpse. Films that concentrate on one person for the majority of the film can be challenging. They succeed when there is a compelling story, an interesting character who we empathise with and problems that are overcome in clever ways. This film has none of that. The main character is a complete airhead who does absolutely everything wrong. From the start, she makes consistently bad decisions and I have to wonder how she has managed to stay employed. The main draw for the film was her face off with a bear. It happens in the last 5 minutes of the film and can best be described as lack-lustre. I gave it one star for the incredible scenery. See more Mark B @Mbindon 06/14/2024 Starts off promising seems you are in for lighthearted comedic movie. Nope tonal shift it’s a thriller? Shift does not work. The main character just is ridiculous in her actions to the point of what are you doing now? And the scares and tension are contrived jump scares. The “twist” is not earned or make any sense at all and you are left with wow that 1 1/2 hour movie went by like only 3 hours and what a waste of time. Based off that and a solid looking poster I gave it a shot. It was very disappointing. I was expecting a tense lone survival movie with a ranger defending herself from a bear. Instead I got a half assed ghost story that never seemed to commit to it's own ideas. If only they had spent the time they did making that poster to finding someone who could act or a writer who knew what they were doing. There was potential there. The main character was so stupid I wanted the bear to eat her by the end!
