During the World War II bombings of London, four English siblings are sent to a country house where they will be safe. One day Lucy (Georgie Henley) finds a wardrobe that transports her to a magical world called Narnia. After coming back, she soon returns to Narnia with her brothers, Peter (William Moseley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and her sister, Susan (Anna Popplewell). There they join the magical lion, Aslan (Liam Neeson), in the fight against the evil White Witch, Jadis (Tilda Swinton).

The film captures the essence of the novel, which succumbing to the 2000s tendency to lean into fight scenes and CGI (puppets look good, though!). The kids are well cast, but this adaptation feels bloated and padded at nearly 2.5 hrs.

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe is a fantasy film that mixes wonder, emotion, and mythology beautifully. The idea of four siblings escaping war and accidentally discovering Narnia through a wardrobe. This simple idea alone becone one of cinema's most iconic fantasy concepts. The atmosphere of snowy forests and silent kingdoms feel magical from the first minutes. Visually, the film loooks impressive years later

Just watched this movie again for the second time. First time was like 2010. What a fantastic movie and if you are a Christian you can see the pictures of Jesus in it. It was well made and the children’s acting was very believable. Especially the youngest girl she did such a great job and was so mature. The action at the end of the film was also great as I enjoy action movies and it had that in it as well. Highly recommended!!!

It is a familiar rendering of this epic kid’s pseudo religious tale. It’s not as good as the prior version, lacking its warm and more sincere characters. Instead we have to put up with an intolerably insufferable Peter. It was ok but dragged a bit and had an unnecessarily long battle scene. Watched on DVD.
