Michael W @RT61820632 1h Seems that a lot of the critique of this work stems from an (understandable) loathing of Gervais. And ok, dick jokes get old fast. But this series touches on a lot of thoughtful themes…life after death, companionship, childhood obesity, oh, and dicks. Each episode ends with hopefuloptimism so you don’t feel like trash for having laughed yourself sick. See more Brandon W @RT84342099 4h I applaud Ricky Gervais, I was very surprised tbh it pulled emotions and really makes you think about street cats and what they go through while delivering hilarious lines back to back in a very conversational way, I also really appreciate the edgy dark humor in a very pc climate its refreshing to hear actually funny fearless comedy I have never been a fan of Ricky Gervais but this is a gem. Lazy, predictable and, sadly, quite boring. Even the most ardent Gervais fans are going to struggle to champion this offering. It sounds like someone found an old tape recording of a drunken group of people ranting at 1am in the pub and decided to dub it over an old 1980s cartoon of a set of street cats. Except that would probably have been funnier. After the genius of The Office, Extras and Life’s Too Short (an underrated gem), it’s becoming ever more likely that Stephen Merchant was doing more heavy lifting than first thought. Gervais thinks people might not like it due to being offended by bad language and swearing… in 2026 there isn’t a swear word that surprises or offends most people, and South Park were doing sweary cartoons over 25 years ago. See more Dom E @DomEssdos 8h It's not the best thing he's ever written by a long way, the swearing is for the most part just gratuitous and in the scenes on the couch the dialogue is a rambling late night podcast for drunken uncles. However at least once an episode I had a genuine laugh out loud, proper belly laugh, mainly due to the ad libs by David Earl. So it made me laugh and you can't say fairer than that really, and also who doesn't like a little Van Halen to close the series out.
