What to Know

Critics Consensus

Buoyed by Caleb Landry Jones' haunting lead performance and Danny Elfman's lush score, Dracula reimagines the classic vampire myth as an emotionally charged gothic romance, yet its inconsistent tone holds it back from genre-defining greatness.

Here we are again, caught up in the never-ending slow-drip flood of cinematic Dracula mythology, now with Luc Besson’s wan, derivative, dutifully time-period-hopping, different-but-not-really-new take on the vampire legend. Go to Full Review

The cast’s deliveries on Besson’s punchlines are strong, and editor Lucas Fabiani keeps up his end of the deal when it comes to timing. But not even Jones isn’t funny or magnetic enough to sustain attention without the support of real suspense and allure. Go to Full Review

The bloodsucking Count is back again, but this time in a strangely bloodless love story that even wickedly seductive fangboy Caleb Landry Jones can’t save from the cliché stockpile Go to Full Review

This Dracula isn't toothless – it just doesn't really have a voice. And with Eggers' version barely cold in its grave, the competition feels especially unforgiving. Go to Full Review

Kiaralys 35m I honestly loved it, at first ending was disappointing but then I realized he finally found her so he felt at peace. A beautiful love story, warmed my heart. See more Maria Esme 2h This movie was a great time period piece. I did enjoy the part where he was looking for his beloved through the different eras of time. It ignites that feeling of being wanted the way he wants to be with Elizabeta. Very romantic. Another scene that was quite Captivating was the convent. That part of the movie was definitely an artistic visualization that came to life. It was literally like a painting that came to life! I give this movie a 10/10. The story, the art, the actors were all great. I can’t wait to purchase this movie. See more Karleigh 4h Movie was amazing 100% recommend. Although totally free will to make a happy ending btw. See more LJ 9h I've seen it twice in theaters so far and can't get enough of it. Visually stunning and captivating. See more Jacob 17h i’m a sucker (no pun intended) for a classic monster movie. as far as this one goes, it’s very beautiful but extremely funny. and not in a way where i can tell if they meant it to be funny or not. i think this movie is super fun, the female vampire absolutely killed it in her role, the ending was super sweet in a way. i do think the makeup could’ve been done better, but that’s just nitpicking. See more Claudia 19h Gosh, I don’t have the words. The yearning, the love, the gut wrenching heartbreak but also the happiness at a man’s salvation. See more Read all reviews
