Critics Consensus

Despite a muddled story and diminished spark, Enola Holmes 3 succeeds thanks to Millie Bobby Brown's winning performance and some lively action.

The Malta setting and the movie’s “merry mess” make for a fine backdrop for Brown’s continuing evolution as a charming big, or small, screen presence. Go to Full Review

For fans, this is an exciting continuation, while newcomers will find it an entertaining mystery that stands confidently on its own. The future of the "Enola Holmes" franchise has never looked brighter. Go to Full Review

The key cast have ... established a refreshing chemistry that should carry Ms Holmes comfortably through another few films. Go to Full Review

Continues the franchise's tradition of being an acceptable way to pass a couple of hours. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Has a rather dull plot and is too busy trying to disguise the fact with all sorts of visual gimmicks. Go to Full Review

It’s all very tired and tiresome. The streaming franchise’s sense of fun has faded, the script is barely serviceable, and even Helena Bonham Carter can’t bring much life to the proceedings. Go to Full Review

Ale C @alecabral 9h First 2 were more interesting in both character development and plots. This "come-of-age" porttait of Enole doesn’t really add to the story (whatever that is), and there is nothing to gain by witnessing the story. Also some creative ideas (like Moriarty being a black woman in the supposed victorian era) just don’t work. Movie is entertaining enough to watch on a rainy afternoon, if the plan is to just doze off, which you will likely end up doing anyway with this slow paced, nothing fancy, no real twists and just plain-as-greek-yogurt movie. See more Ava K @RT71992147 1d Lost the magic of the first two. Plot was predictable and not filled with the intense surprise and cleverness that the first two were. The witty banter and overall intelligence of Enola, Sherlock, and Moriarty were dulled down. The film did flesh out some side characters from previous films, like Lady Tewkesbury, and added some interesting new ones. The plot handled a historical conflict with taste, and scenes like Watson and Tewkesbury were heartwarming and well done. However, the ending seemed to almost undo the point of the previous two movies, that good people belong in powerful places to make change and help others. To abandon politics is to give ones spot to people with worse opinions, rather than to create change for the better. A good movie by itself, but a poor addition to the franchise that failed to live up to the previous two films. See more Moira B @MoiraH 1d Dull, tired and trite. See more Shell F @Shelgy 1d Too woke - sorry I don’t want and Indian Doctor Watson or a black female Moriarty just as I don’t want a white Shaft . Stop changing history. Did not enjoy. See more Ava V @RT47926349 2d If you love HolmesBurry, you will love this movie. I hope they make a 4th. See more Essie D @Essie556 3d They lost the plot on this one - none of the entertaining twists that the first two had. Plus a hefty dose of woke lecturing on slavery and colonialism from Ms Moriarty finally killed it for me. See more Read all reviews
