It pulls the curtain on the artifice and shows the unforgivable cost to what Hansen did and how [he was] allowed to do it. This subject is much bigger than [that], though, so the film plays like more of a table-turned "gotcha" moment of its own. Go to Full Review

A fine tuned, extremely relevant dissection of the purported good that shows such as To Catch A Predator claim to offer. The doc is extremely self-reflexive about its own goals, which is a welcome change from other true crime texts Go to Full Review

Erik Oct 22 Good but a little self-important at the end and never really covered the deterrence angle See more Ed Sep 29 It fills one in on what happened to the show To Catch a Predator. A few moments drag a bit too long but overall an opportunity to understand the dynamics of show. See more Yash B @yashbansal 4h "Predators" is an undeniably interesting documentary. I do feel it raises more questions than answers, but it is a fascinating watch about one of the strangest pop culture moments of all time. The movie is split into three parts, and I think the middle portion was the least interesting, but I still think it is a well-rounded documentary. Overall, this is a very solid documentary that I watched due to my excitement for the upcoming A24 film with Robert Pattinson, and now I am really curious how they approach it. See more John D @Crf04061970 14h Chris Hanson is a creep who uses pedophilia for profit. No one is defending pedophiles. They are disgusting and evil! But almost as disgusting are those who make pedophilia entertainment for profit. Both things can be true. It was also very wrong for Hanson to destroy the life of an 18 year old for pursuing a 15 year old. My high school sweetheart and first love who I was with for 5 years was 14 and I was 17 when we started dating. We had her parent's blessing. What is the difference? See more Maryann T @RT57705968 May 22 Absolutely disgusting piece of work. Seeing weirdos claiming this to be eye opening and thought provoking makes me sick to my stomach. There is no nuance with pedophilia. No nuance at all. I’m seriously side eyeing EVERYONE who thinks this documentary has something of substance to offer. If you think this is a great film, you’re a creep. Chris Hansen, thank you for doing what you’ve done for decades. And to the director, honestly dude, f*** you. See more Robert R. @Ro83rt May 17 If they’re trying to make child predators as more sympathetic characters, this wasn’t it. The example that had any substance was at the end, but trying to paint Chris Hansen like he’s the bad guy and the real “Predator” is a stretch. Something tells me the producer doesn’t have kids and, for some reason, has negative feelings about Hansen. These guys he interviews are trying to respect him because he introduces his past abuse to subdue them. Of course, they’re not going to be combative. One stars for the old footage of TCaP, though.
