Imaginatively evoking the inner landscape of human beings longing to connect, to love and feel loved, the film is a parable of happiness gloriously found and tragically lost. "Requiem for a Dream" tells parallel stories that are linked by the relationship between the lonely, widowed Sara Goldfarb and her sweet but aimless son, Harry. Ghostly dissolves capture them turning into mere echoes of themselves. Aronofsky speeds up time and draws it out agonisingly, evoking the rush of the high and then its crushing absence.

It may be too much for some viewers to take, but no one ever said addiction is pretty. And Aronofsky earns every right to his excesses by making sure audiences feel the loss of humanity instead of treating them like spectators at a freak show.

Let your children see this when they become teenagers, people that are thinking of doing drugs should watch this. Every junkie is a setting sun, dying or dead inside, and if you think your not hooked and can handle drugs...... Just wait a month or so

This movie was HAUNTING! Jared, Jennifer, and Marlon all killed it, and the story was really sad and scary to watch. Ellen Burstyn's story was very sad, and I felt bad for her the whole movie. That's a complement. This movie makes you feel bad for broken people who could fix themselves but don't. And the ending was really dark. It just shows how terrible things can get from drug addiction, and how it ruins peoples lives.

Didn't even recognize Jared Leto, but the 4 main characters absolutely crushed it. Some parts I thought were weird and unnecessary. Alot of the sex scenes probably didnt need to be there and it would still have a big impact on addiction and drugs use. Still enjoyed the movie and highly reccomend to give it a shot

I know its a classic, and in the way of showing how addiction can ruin peoples lives it does a good job. But I don't know for the love around the movie I expected more. Acting was good, and the film is done in a very trippy way as to show the life of an addict. But I dont know, guess I just expected more. Decent film, and a real eye opener kind of film for anyone who is an addict. Also definitely this movie put the song on the map, but man did they really just stick to that 1 song and play it over and over.
