Guy Lodge Variety 2d
The film is most compelling throughout as a straightforward domestic drama, with increasingly fraught family dynamics lending proceedings a baseline of credibility even as whatever’s happening outside the house remains largely inscrutable. Go to Full Review
Sam Adams Slate 2d
The script occasionally remembers to confront the darker aspects of what a family running low on resources might do to survive. But then it skitters back to safer ground. Go to Full Review

The problem isn’t the actors; they make “The Last House” bearable. The issue is that the filmmakers didn’t accept that a simple premise — people stuck inside a house — required a brisk solution. Go to Full Review

The Last House is an overall struggle that never finds its identity in genre, tone, or messaging. Go to Full Review

The Last House was an often thought provoking end of the world movie that was absolutely ruined by that ending. Go to Full Review

Breanna G @BreannaK 20m I think this movie was good. I did feel the days were kind of drawn out before anything was revealed on what was happening but it was a good movie! See more Ashlynn S @RT66452112 34m Much better than I thought people was hating for no reason Good premise of the moive would like it to be a show and each episodes different people would be good. Good acting and writing felt the struggle and them going crazy plus the dad had funny lines talking to the kids in the beginning See more Bob S @RT02770260 36m I only felt bad for the dog. This movie is like most films the last 15 years. Absolute dog shit. See more JM A @RT90823539 40m The director had two amazing lead actors but the script, the soundtrack, the scene choices it all went too far down. You don’t get enough involvement with the mysterious rain to believe in their struggles. Just a bad apocalyptic film that takes it self too seriously. See more Matthew H @Hendy2013 52m An absolutely awesome movie definitely recommend. The acting and creature affects were top notch. The action and suspense kept you on the edge of your seat . Don’t listen to all the negative reviews nobody knows god movies when they see them now a days an absolute blast of a film. P.s movie haters if you were do your research the creatures were premordial lovecraftian creatures like cathulu etc that launched an extermination of the surface world to safe not just the environment but there world which was say if t with me negative reviewers the ocean another p.s if you would read some of lovecrafts stories creatures such as Cathulu could control the weather and create horrific storms See more R T @RT50758336 58m This movie is a must see!! The dynamic of how they have to survive, growing vegetables from underneath the house, the dad using his engineer skills to try and make his kids happy anddd getting protein for them! The idea of 80% of the ocean left undiscovered and this showing that even if it’s not the ones from the movie it’s still creatures out there that has never been discovered and we will probably never discover. The idea of having a part 2 of this movie will be amazing!! To see how they will navigate through this and meeting people who’ve survived and hearing their stories! Maybe even encountering new and even more dangerous creatures. See more Read all reviews
