Roger K @Roger176 Jun 7 Having just suffered through the latest Scary Movie, I found the off-the-wall slapstick of this Indie gem to be much more refreshing. An interesting mix of veteran actors (Clifton Powell, John Canada Terrell), old school musicians (90s hip hop star MC Breeze) and lesser known performers created a surprise comedy that more people need to know about. Powell knocks it out of the park in his cameo as Chef Da'Ron. The authentic music created by Breeze captures the 90s hip hop flavor. And Terrell delivers a Heimlich Maneuver that rivals Mrs. Doubtfire's life saving move. And John Lumia holds the film together as the deadpan detective KO who ventures into the foreboding world of an inner city hip hop club. Skip the mainstream films for a night and check out this oddball comedy! See more earl T @RT78461785 04/27/2025 Hats off to director Hurley McNare for delivering a very amusing comedy with cult classic potential. OG Clifton Powell brings down the house in his most amusing role since Pinky. Flash from The Five Heartbeats delivers the greatest Heimlich Maneuver in cinema history. Music lovers are treated to the real deal with an old school hip hop soundtrack produced by MC Breeze. A slapstick period piece shot in 35mm and replete with authentic old-school costumes and props for the 90’s make the visual experiencing as gratifying as the comedy. And a cameo from TT Torrez of Hot 97 radio in NYC helps make this entertaining romp an excellent warm up for those awaiting the Naked Gun remake. See more Read all reviews
