I did find myself laughing out loud at a couple of points during the finale of Detective Hole, but that was more at the show than with it, so rushed and preposterous is its denouement. Go to Full Review

Based on the fifth Harry Hole book, The Devil's Star, it's a bit drawn out, but it gets right what The Snowman got wrong. Go to Full Review

[Jo Nesbø] created this sturdy, well-seasoned Harry Hole series, penning every episode. The show’s only real problem is that he wrote too many. Go to Full Review

The series is well-edited and photographed, has the pacing required for this type of production, and features music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis...which lends personality and quality to a very well-chosen soundtrack. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

RaeAnn G @FlipFlopContessa 4d The show grabbed me from the very beginning. I know it sounds cliche but the twists left me wanting to watch the whole series in one sitting. The faults of Hole are plausible. I don’t think I could perform his job without something to get me through the day. It’s grim and gritty and provides enough details to try to solve the case. I pride myself in figuring out the key players early and Valaar was on my radar from the beginning. I also liked the way Hole and his future step son came together. I hope there are more shows. See more Manuel W @RT04587877 4d All the detective story stereotypes and cliches mixed together to a weak plot, full of plot holes, annoying characters, silly dialogues, and most of all: endless boring filler. Can be watched at 1.5x speed, skipping entire sections - especially those where the grumpy, alcoholic cowboy cop once again drowns in misery - and still nothing missed. See more Bogdan D @RT52677041 4d If you like crime novels about serial killers with a troubled but brilliant detective, this is right up your alley. See more Paul K @RT03170353 Apr 8 Sensationally good. Best series for a long time. Very realistic and brutal mixed in with interesting character development. Harry perfectly cast,Tom too: both played brilliantly. An intelligent, ENTERTAINING, and clever series. Very like the books, all of which I have read. Nesbo has really got what it takes. See more Allan H @RT89558755 Apr 7 The author adapting his own novel greatly helps. Whatever he wants in, he gets. As a result, you can understand each character better, sometimes too much better. See more Ian H @Ostrogoth Apr 6 The atmospheric settings are good, the acting good but the direction loose. If you spend a lot time trying to work out what is going on rather than enjoying what you see, something is wrong. Too many cul-de-sacs and the whole idea that Tom was one of the goodies was unsustainable. When the final dénouement approached, how come Tom and Harry were the only police people in the whole of Norway? It could have been so much better. See more Read all reviews
