This latest retread doesn’t meaningfully expand on the Star Wars mythos or take it to new places, but it is a largely well-executed genre romp that’s elevated by Lucasfilm Animation’s honed aesthetic chops. Go to Full Review

It’s a well-made entry, better than some of the live-action films. Plus it’s always a good time when you can watch Stormtroppers and their devious ilk get their butts kicked. Go to Full Review

Though not quite essential, Maul: Shadow Lord is a compelling and at times thrilling chapter in the villain’s ever-evolving story.  Go to Full Review

I was skeptical about Maul—Shadow Lord. But it turns out, this is the kind of show that won’t disappoint even the most embittered fan. Go to Full Review

Maul: Shadow Lord has beautiful animation and incredible action scenes. I’m fascinated by the new characters. They’re great additions to the universe and have a ton of personality. The voice acting is fantastic. Go to Full Review

Rey T. @TheRey6 1d Dave Filoni, THANK YOU👏👏👏💪👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MASTERPIECE See more Nicholas K @RT50879212 1d :::Spoilers::: There is a lot of dialog in this show, and after 4 episodes not a lot has happened. The show itself feels very small: example, even though it starts with an exciting heist in the opening minutes, it’s immediately slowed down by the investigation of the heist; and the events all feel like they’re happening in the same intersecting areas. After 2 hours, there seems to be a padawan Maul wants to recruit, and Maul has intimated or "taken out" some crime bosses. While I’m still going to keep watching, I find myself not really caring about the characters or the mafia themed plot lines. For an adventure that takes place in a world so developed by the Star Wars universe; I don’t really understand why this is moving so slow. I’m hoping it picks up, but as things stand; I can’t recommend this: there’s just not enough happening to keep the concepts entertaining, and Maul seems almost like a side character in a story about police droids and a padawan he wants to recruit. See more Atick T @Presumic 1d Poor plot and character motivation. See more Hased O @Tictic 1d Extremely weak plot. Most characters has poor motivation See more Grim U @Frins 1d As always, Star Wars animation has a very stupid plot. They can improve the graphics as much as they want, but the story remains naive. In The Clone Wars, this was forgivable because it was the first such project and it actually answered many important questions for the franchise. In Tales of the Jedi, it was forgivable because of the atmosphere. But Shadow Lord doesn't have these redeeming qualities. Also, I noticed that many police officers have already died in the series, but not a single one of Maul's minions. This is annoying: it's one thing to give a plot armor to a positive character, but to a criminal? Unacceptable. This series actually makes you sympathize with the Empire, although they'll probably make it exaggeratedly evil again. See more odgy1986 T @Odgy1986 1d Absolutely Fantastic Thus Far! Make me want to see a Live Action movie with Maul even more! See more Read all reviews
