First three episodes dip and sway into an uneven start ... then in a fun (almost brilliant turn) episode 4 pulls it together. Never have a witnessed a strange show like this one that actually tops itself with its over the top finale. This ungainly thing is dragged out over eight episodes and, though it sometimes piques the interest, it doesn't satisfy or even make sense. There is a curse with some complicated rules which the series breaks haphazardly - and because of that you give up trying to work out, or care, what will happen. Lots of red herrings at the beginning; basically forget all the first episode except to feel the dread, which clearly emanates from the central character and not, as the first few episodes try to make you think, from her nouveau riche would be in-laws.
